MEDTEC China, an exhibition jointly organized by Canon Communications LLC and Shanghai CCPIT Expo, will be held at Shanghai`s INTEX Center from September 8 to 10, 2009.
The exhibition in MEDTEC China will showcase the latest industry trends and is an ideal sourcing platform for medical-grade raw materials, manufacturing equipment components, electronics, assemblies, production and processing machineries, packaging materials, sterilization, manufacturing technologies, subcontracting and outsourcing services.
Despite the financial crisis, industry observers remain optimistic over the international medical technology market. The biggest challenge for Chinese companies is how to develop innovative products and technology while optimizing cost structures.
Local research institutes have suggested that China"s cardiovascular devices market will grow at 10% annually through 2013, driven by expansion in services and procedures.
In the past few years, China`s orthopedic devices market has experienced rapid growth of 14% to 16%. Knee implants command the largest market share at about 50%, with trauma and hip devices sharing the remainder. The Chinese orthopedic devices market is expected to continue growing at a rate of about 8% in the next few years.
