The Australia-New Zealand PlastixANZ Plastics Industry Achievement Awards 

Annual awards program honoring and recognizing companies involved in the Australian and New Zealand Plastics Industry for business excellence product innovation, design and marketing and commercial success. 

The Awards are open to manufacturers and marketers of polymers, plastics additives and colorants and products using plastics made or designed in Australia and New Zealand and marketed domestically or internationally. The Awards recognize initiatives that have demonstrated outstanding real and sustained business growth through innovation, creative business solutions, and sustained productivity and profit improvement. 

These initiative could include new business development, technology and design break-through, new market and export development, unique use of technology in management and software use, innovative marketing strategies, improved supply chain capabilities and manufacturing excellence. 

It is open to Australian and New Zealand companies who are designers ,manufacturers or marketers of equipment, software or other technology used in the plastics industry that can be manufactured off-shore and sold in Australia, New Zealand or internationally. 

These Awards are available to companies or organizations of any size registered in Australia or New Zealand as at June 30, 2012

The purpose of the PlastixANZ Plastics Industry Achievement Awards is to: 

Recognize Australian or New Zealand businesses in the Plastics Industry 

Acknowledge the important contribution the business provides to Australian and New Zealand Plastics Industry and the economy through job creation and increased prosperity 

Provide the opportunity to publicly recognize the talent and initiative spirit of the Australian and New Zealand Plastics Industry 

Encourage Australian and New Zealand Plastics Industry companies to strengthen their Australian and New Zealand manufacture, design, export, innovation and services. 

Businesses that qualify for the PlastixANZ Plastics Industry Achieivement Awards are: 

Manufacturers of products that are made of plastics or have a significant plastic component 

Manufacturers and marketers of equipment used in the plastics processing. Equipment may be Australian and New Zealand designed but manufactured in a second country and exported to third countries. 

Designers and marketers of products that have a significant plastic component, manufactured in Australia or New Zealand or a second country and exported to third countries. 

Designers and marketers of software used in plastic manufacturing, marketing or distribution. 

Manufactures or suppliers of plastics additives, colorants or master batches 

Designers , manufacturers and marketers of other technology used the plastics industry and exported

AWARD CATEGORIES 

There are seven Award Categories 

PlastixANZ Plastics Industry Achievement of Excellence Award 

This award recognizes the best initiative and outstanding achiever for 2012 

Magellan Logistics PLASTICS INDUSTRY EXPORT AWARD 

This award recognizes sustained export business growth 

Steinert Australia PLASTICS INDUSTRY ENVIRONMENT AWARD 

This award recognizes outstanding effort to increase the awareness for management of the environment 

BASF Australia Plastics Industry Achievement Award for DESIGN & INNOVATION 

This award recognizes break-through design and innovation in the plastics industry as well as sustainable, creative and successful designs of plastic (s) components or use of technology 

Profile Solutions Plastics Industry Achievement Award for MANUFACTURING AND BEST PRACTICE 

This award recognizes best manufacturing practices, process and productivity improvement 

Marplex Plastics Industry Achievement Award for MARKETING & DISTRIBUTION AWARD 

This award recognizes creative and efficient methods of marketing, distribution & supply chain management and process improvement 

Plastics Pioneers/PACIA Plastics Industry Encouragement Award

Award to encourage continuing development in the plastics industry.

AWARD CRITERIA 

The award criteria, set out below is provided to encourage entrants to structure their nomination to take into account the judging criteria and structure their submission clearly and succinctly taking into account the criteria. 

1.The product , service or technology meets the ENTRY CRITERIA 

2.The submission demonstrates the AREAS OF EXCELLENCE for which the candidate is nominated with a concise description demonstrating the principle elements for its claim for excellence. 

3.The entry demonstrates a POSITIVE CONTRIBUTION to the plastics industry and customers 

4.Demonstration of a positive CONTRIBUTION TO THE ECONOMY and financial contribution to the industry 

5.Demonstration of SOUND MANAGEMENT PRACTICES 

6.The level of INNOVATION and clear go-to market strategies 

7.Evidence of the ability to react to MARKET SITUATIONS and to develop CREATIVE SOLUTIONS particularly with export where there may be a need to overcome entry barriers, government restrictions or cultural differences 

HOW TO NOMINATE 

Download nomination form, add additional pages if required. Nominations can be of any length, should clearly describe and outline the individual or organization achievement and can utilize diagrams, financial data , photos, videos, or other techniques that will aid the judges understanding of the achievement. Nominations should use the criteria available for each Award category in development of their nomination. 

ENTRY DEADLINE & JUDGING 

Entries must be submitted by 5.00 PM August 16, 2012 

Judging of this award will take place over July and August 2012 by the sponsor awards panel.

WHO CAN NOMINATE 

If you are in the plastics industry you can nominate as there is a category for you 

Companies can nominate themselves , departments within a company or individuals 

Individuals can nominates themselves , their project or company 

Suppliers can nominate customers and customers can nominate suppliers 

SUPPORTING DATA AND INFORMATION WITH YOUR NOMINATION 

Supporting information such as financial data, market data and statistics, product and technology details, and photographs are encouraged. Be sure to include supporting evidence of claims of achievement or outcomes as well as statements from other persons or organizations supporting the claims. Provide both qualitative and quantitative data supporting the claim and if others were involved in the achievement please includes their names and the part they played. All information will be treated confidentially and will be returned to the Nominee if requested.

Nomination content will not be lodged .
